The final book, "Inheritance", as revealed to fans in an early morning, exclusive email from Random House.

For fans around the world, this news is much anticipated. The Inheritance Cycle, which began with Eragon, followed by Eldest and Brisingr, will finally reach its conclusion – and it has that green dragon we’ve all been suspecting.

INHERITANCE will be the fourth and final installment of the cycle, and promises to be exciting and full of answers. “The burning questions asked by fans around the world will finally be answered in this last installment,” says author Christopher Paolini.
The release date is set for November 8th, 2011 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

So – what are your thoughts? Who’s the fourth dragon rider? Is it a character we’ve already met? Is Murtagh good or not? Will Arya and Eragon finally GET TOGETHER?

Paolini isn’t giving many hints, except that it’s going to be as heart pounding and heart wrenching as the rest of the series. “When I was last writing,” Paolini teases at Comic Con, 2010, “I’d killed off a main character and left Eragon manacled and bloodied to a wall”.

Brilliant.

After a few days hiatus, I’m back in the blogging world. And what better way to get back in than with some new footage from Comic Con 2010? (Can you believe its only been a week?).

Last Sunday night, I edited and posted the entire Merlin Panel, bloopers, and interview with Bradley James and Warwick Davis from Comic Con on my youtube channel. I had no idea how popular they would be! Even as I was loading them, I was getting hundreds of views (especially on the bloopers). At first I couldn’t figure out who was on youtube at 3am (except me of course). Then I remembered – the Brits were all up! And the Brits love Merlin.

So as I was exploring today, I discovered three brilliant new roundtable interviews with Colin Morgan, Anthony Head, and writers/creators Johnny Capps/Julian Murphy. They have been added to my “Merlin” playlist on youtube, but can also be viewed below. Enjoy!
Some interesting tidbits revealed in the interviews:

    • Harry Potter actors Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) and Miriam Margolyes (Professor Sprout) will be guest staring on Series 3 of Merlin.
    • Colin Morgan reveals how he hopes Merlin’s magic is revealed to Arthur (which, incidentally, is how I am hoping it was revealed). “It’s time” he says. Colin Morgan Interview: 5:35
    • Colin’s favorite aspect of shooting Merlin is its variety – he loves working the actions scenes, but also enjoys the dramatic moments.
    • “We care about our characters; we care about our show”. I loved that Colin said this, which echoes what Anthony Head said to me during the autograph signing, “I love this job. Its the best job in the world”. Personally, I absolutely love it when actors connect with their characters, and really care about making their show great and their fans happy. It creates a special bond between the viewers and the actors.
    • Colin laughed about the amount of fans who have been showing up on the set to watch the filming. He said it was a bit “daunting…but lovely, really nice”.
    • In a question related to Gwen/Merlin’s relationship, Colin revealed there isn’t much development during the third series. While the two remain friends, the writers are “toying” with Guinevere  – making her ready to be Arthur’s Queen.

    Colin Morgan:

    Anthony Head:

    Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy:

To anybody who has watched ANY of my videos, including the ones from the Tom Felton Interview at Comic Con, thank you! You encourage me to put more things up, and spread the geek joy. =)

Merlin fan? Couldn’t make it to the Merlin Comic Con Panel in San Diego? Well never fear, Merlin fans! I recorded it all! Including a funny video with Bradley James (Arthur) and Warwick Davis (some goblin in Merlin, Flitwick in Harry Potter). Also, a blooper real and fan questions.  Again, legalities forbid I record the trailer.

Actors Colin Morgan (Merlin), Anthony Head (Uther Pendragon), and creators/writers Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy.

After the panel, I was lucky enough to get a signing from the actors/writers. It was great to hear how much they love their fans, and how much they really love what they do (especially Anthony, he absolutely raves about his job). Also, Colin Morgan mentioned to me that he loves theme parks, and when I suggested he visit Disneyland, he said he absolutely wanted too…but had a plane to catch. Busy people these actors! (But all the more special they came!) The writers were also very happy, and proud, to here that Merlin is one of the ways my 12 year old brother and I stay close when I am at college.

Here is just a sneak peak! The rest is coming soon, and even though I won’t put them all here, they will be under a playlist on my Youtube channel.

Bradley James “Interviews” Warwick Davis — The two could not make it to Comic Con, as they were filming series three

The Blooper Real — even though it drifts a lot. I had to cover my screen or they would have been like ‘You there, are you deaf? Put that light out!’. (Quiz…which HP movie is that line from?)

Special Note: Apologies, but for personal and professional reasons, I couldn’t risk taping the trailer. I could have tried, but I may have gotten in trouble – especially if I wanted to get all these up! But be assured Merlin Fans! You will love Series 3!

Hello Feltbeaters! And Blog Readers! Here it is!

Meeting Tom was an incredible experience – he’s a fantastic guy! He was so genuine, down to earth, and extremely gracious to his fans. It was like chatting with an old friend – and he was an absolute joy to meet! He answered multiple questions, from his music to Deathly Hallows – including many of the ones you asked. In addition to me representing Feltbeats.com, staff members fromThe Leaky Cauldron, Mugglenet.com, and Snitchseeker.com were also present at the interview. They were a joy to meet and work with.

Here is the video of Tom Felton thanking Feltbeats for their support!

For those of you who want to goggle at Tom’s face while he talks, here is a fair amount of the interview on youtube:

    Part I:

    Part II:

For those of you who prefer to listen to Tom’s voice, and forever keep it with you on your iTunes, here is the audio of the interview:

    Tom Felton Interview

    Of note from the interview:

    • Tom has NOT signed an official record deal with Six String productions. He says that the company blew the concept out of proportion. Tom discussed that he and Six String have talked about possibly recording some of his previous songs, and maybe in the future he will do something, but as of yet NO record/album deal has been declared. He mentioned that they are both willing and able to work with each other, and have been talking. Just talking. Tom actually mentioned he was a bit frustrated that Six String blew it so out of proportion. He said their general good working relationship is a bit strained. He says he has no intention of a career change, and definitely “won’t be getting in the pop scene”.
    • Tom said he wasn’t able to keep any memorabilia from set. He wanted Draco’s wand and cape for sure, but couldn’t get it. He did say, however, that he was excited about getting Draco’s wand at WWOHP.
    • Tom say’s he absolutely loves to see himself as a little Draco Lego player. He admits though, that he isn’t very good at playing. =)
    • As far as hard parts of Deathly Hallows filming wise, Tom said that the Room of Requirement scene was very physical. He said he was exhausted after the filming. He actually mentioned that filming Malfoy Manor was difficult cause he and Dan couldn’t keep it together. Apparently, there are points where Dan and Tom have their faces right next to each other, and they just kept cracking up. They made jokes, and Tom even mentioned it felt like there should have been a kiss coming.
    • The ‘post production’ part of DH that Tom is most looking forward to are the effects and CGI. He mentioned he has always been impressed with the incredible team, and thanked them for all their hard work. He also mentioned that he absolutely loves the scores from the movies – from the big booms to the small xylophone chimes. He says they always nail it right on. Also, he is always interested to see how they piece the movie together – because they shoot everything at once.
    • When asked what his favorite part of the past 10 years on set, Tom said “The end still hasn’t sunk in yet”. He said he has his memories, but it would be hard to identify just one spot from the ten years. One memory though that has stuck in his mind is when filming with Chris Columbus even before he was cast.
    • He discussed the emotions of Draco during the Final Battle. He said that Draco had his “head hung low”, because he felt the burden of going from the ‘good’ side to the bad. He said there was just a bunch of emotions that needed to be portrayed.
    • Tom was asked what he would do with Draco if he got to write another book. At first, he jokingly replied that he would want to switch it all up, become a Gryffindor, and all. He then laughed, and admitted he hadn’t really thought about that, but it’d be nice for Draco to break away, start his own family, etc

    He was such a sweetheart.

In addition to my report, Snitchseeker has the full audio and transcript from the event, including the first few minutes I missed. You can check out SnitchSeeker’s report here.

Thanks SO much to Feltbeats.com for the incredible opportunity to interview Tom! It was a dream come true, and a weekend I will never forget. I would also like to thank the other fansites present, as they were extremely kind and a joy to meet. Also, a huge thank you to Warner Brothers for arranging the interview. And the biggest thank you to TOM FELTON himself, for taking time out of what is sure to be a crazy schedule to talk to a few fans!

Day 2 of Comic Con, was as yesterday, memorable to say the least.
While originally frustrated that I was unable to make it to the Big Bang Theory, I was able to spend a little time brainstorming for tomorrow. Also, I did get in to see the Spartacus panel! It was incredibly entertaining: the cast was excellent, the questions were great, and the news about the Prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena was enticing. I will be posting some of the video of the panel (I recorded it all), however I should warn all that the material is a bit PG-13…or higher. The show itself airs on Starz, with an R rating.

The highlight of my day, however, was just really exploring the floor and discover some more Harry Potter merchandise! While touring the artist area, I found the booth of Insight Editions which was advertising two soon to be released books:

The first is Harry Potter: Film Wizardry “From the Creative Team Behind The Celebrated Movie Series”. Here is the link to the advertising sheet: Film Wizardry. I will scan the front and back of the sheet tomorrow, as the back has a lot of wonderful information.

The second was the most incredible: Harry Potter Pop-Up Book: Based on the Film Phenomenon. The pop up book advertisement sheet can be viewed here, but I will also post scans of the sheet tomorrow. What was absolutely fantastic about the pop up book though, is that the vendor actually had a copy on display! And being the nice fellow he was, he offered to show me the entire book! He called it ‘rough’, meaning there were some things that still needed to be worked out, but I think it looks brilliant!

All the pictures from the pop up book, in addition to any other pictures from ‘The Con’ can be seen on my Web Album.

So we all know what tomorrow is! Deathly Hallows + Tom Felton day!
    Lets see how this goes!

Its only been a day and a half of Comic Con, but I’m already exhausted.
DownsSo far, Friday has been a dud, because I wasn’t able to get into the Big Bang Theory panel. This was one of the two panels (WB being the other) that I looking forward to the most. Unfortunately, as a result of a late start, bad planning on my part, and a line that has been forming since 5:30 the morning, by the time I arrived two hours early, it was guaranteed I wouldn’t get into Ballroom 20 to see the panel. Not only was a very disappointed to begin with, and kicking myself because of it, but people kept tweeting about how awesome it was. I also missed the TRON panel yesterday due to another insanely long line.
So that’s a bummer. I am currently waiting for the Spartacus panel to begin at 3:15, which should be fantastic. I may have arrived at THAT ballroom 3 hours early, just to be safe, but (despite worries) it looks like its not going to fill up. Which means I could have spent the time browsing the floor.

BUT – all this is to say: next year will be better planned. I’m sure Big Bang Theory will be back next year. And yes, I’m coming next year. And the year after that…and the year after that….tradition!

UPS! As much as today has stunk so far, that’s not to say I’m not enjoying myself. Yesterday was brilliant! And tomorrow and Sunday are going to be great too. Plus, at 3:15 and 4:15 I’ll be seeing the Spartacus and Pixar panel’s respectively.
The biggest UP so far however has been the entire Harry Potter experience. Not only is the WB Booth spectacular, but all the costumes and miniatures throughout the center are spectacular.
And then there is tomorrow! We will get to see some exclusive footage for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, get a ‘special’ surprise from WB, and I’ll be interviewing Tom Felton to help out my favorite fan site: feltbeats.com!
However – the WB panel is supposed to be one of the biggest panels this year. According to rumors, individuals will be lining up starting at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT! The panel is at 11:45 am tomorrow!
As a single, 19 year old female, I can’t really do that overnight – but I think I’ll get there around 6:30 am.
And, just for fun, I’ll pass the time taking pictures, interviewing various Potter fans, and making the time fly! =)

To see any pictures I take at Comic Con, you can visit my Picasa Web Album.

With the Warner Brothers Entertainment Panel this Saturday, fans at Comic Con are getting a chance to view new footage from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in a program created especially for attendees. Additionally, despite word that none of the cast would be here, it looks like Tom Felton is making a special appearance!

After a 3 hour commute (in what should have taken less than an hour and a half), I finally made it to Comic Con a little after 10am this morning.

It is BRILLIANT! In addition to some FANTASTIC props, figurines, and costumes from Harry Potter, I just had the opportunity to sit in a panel with Christopher Paolini, Brandon Sanderson, Brent Weeks, Patrick Rothfuss, and a few other fantasy authors. So far the highlight of my trip (which has lasted only a few hours, true) has been the Warner Brothers Booth which has ALL SEVEN HORCRUXES on display, in addition to the Elder Wand and the Invisibility Cloak.

I have dozens of pictures, all of which can be found here. Note they are all raw. The more permanent photos will be up on this blog in a gallery. Look through them all (HP towards the end), and later today (once I have a more reliable, and quicker internet connection), I will post the STRICTLY Harry Potter related ones in a separate post. Also, following my tweet may lead to a few cool insider information.

If you are AT Comic Con and would like to meet up, comment, and we’ll see what we can do!

    Later today:

Behind the Music: Composing for Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy TV and Film (Thursday, 4:30pm)— Award-winning composers of the music of Heroes, True Blood, Pushing Daisies, Lost, Superman Returns, and Avatar:The Last Airbender will share just how to compose for one of the most versatile musical industries – film. My personal favorite attending (and one of my absolute favorite composers) is Michael Giacchino, who recently one a Golden Globe for his work in Up. He is also known for scores such as the new Star Trek, Lost, Ratatouille, and The Incredibles.

The elation has been building for weeks and the time has finally come.

Comic Con 2010 starts tomorrow in downtown San Diego to the tune of thousands and thousands of geeks.

Okay, well, technically Comic Con starts tonight with the exclusive “Preview Night” (which is offered only to buyers of the four-day passes). However, the panels and programs do not begin until tomorrow when the floodgates open at 9:30am. Unable to get an official four-day pass for the event before they sold out, I resorted to buying each day individually. And I’m glad I did!

For the next four days, I will be your source for anything mentioned in my original Comic Con post (which was recently updated with some VERY exciting news related to TOM FELTON!!) — especially all things Harry Potter. For all those HP fans out there who cannot make the event and the Warner Brothers panel, I will be providing video, pictures, tweets, and articles on everything as or right after it happen (thanks to Center’s free, albeit slow, wifi). You will be able to find it all on an individual post pertaining to that panel. Because of time limitations between panels, I won’t be able to put it all up right away – but rest assured – the Harry Potter and Merlin posts will be up almost instantly (again, depending on the wifi). Regardless of the laptop connections though, I will definitely be tweeting plenty from my cell phone.

In addition to my posts and such, be sure to check out SnitchSeeker.com and TheLeakyCualdron.com, both of which have promised exclusive, special, famous fansite stuff.

    Until tomorrow!

Oh! And don’t forget! Tomorrow night, A Very Potter Sequel premieres on youtube! For information about that, see yesterday’s post.

    Edit: See “WARNER BROTHERS PANEL”

After months of waiting, the schedule of events for San Diego’s Comic Con is finally online. It can be found here.
For that are wondering, Comic Con is essentially the largest gathering of geeks, their conspirators, and the things they love each year. It takes place in the San Diego Convention Center every year at the end of July. It encompasses the entire world of comics, fantasy, science fiction, video games, movies, television, books, artists, collectors items, pop culture – anything (essentially) that you can watch, read, play, or listen too.

For the first time ever, I am attending all four days. I snagged three of the four days before the sold out in record-breaking December (beating the tickets for 2009’s Comic Con which sold out in the March before the event). I grabbed the fourth just a few weeks ago when return memberships came back on sale. I am absolutely thrilled at the program schedule this year, which includes panels I both was – and wasn’t- expecting. Many I was absolutely ecstatic about. Here are some of my favorite panels and guests coming to CC this year (in no particular order):

Warner Brothers Panel, Including The Deathly Hallows (Saturday, 11:45am) — Warner Brothers will be presenting looks at three of their upcoming films: The Green Lantern, Sucker Punch, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. EDIT: In a surprise, but absolutely brilliant turn of events, Warner Brothers today (July 21) revealed that Tom Felton will be attending the panel to present NEW footage! While we all expected the footage, no cast members were originally slated to attend. Having obviously felt the pain from every Harry Potter fan in attendance at CC, it seems Warner Brothers was able to get Tom out here! I am ridiculously excited about the news, especially because (lets be honest), if there was one Potter star I wanted to meet – it was Tom Felton! (Read why in last week’s Actor Spotlight). Also, check out my newest post on what to expect from me after the panel!

The Big Bang Theory (Friday, 12:45pm) — From one of the most popular sitcoms on television comes a panel moderated by Star Trek: The Next Generation star and BBT guest actor Wil Wheaton in what is sure to be the most fantastic hour of hilarity at Comic Con. Not generally a fan of television comedy, the BBT is my favorite half-hour show out there, largely do to its incredible writing, acting, and geek references (all, for the most part, of which I get).

Tron: Legacy (Thursday, 11:15am) — Okay, I’ll admit I haven’t seen the original movie – but don’t worry – its on a to-do list. But I’m a sucker for the big sound, big picture, big technology kind of movies. The original trailer got me sucked in, and I want to see where they take it. And, according to the number of people who have already put it on their schedules (close to 2000), its going to be the biggest event this year.

Merlin (Sunday, 11:45am)— Now this was truly unexpected. The popular television show in Britain has slowly been making itself known in the United States on ABC. Having finished an extremely successful second season, Merlin is coming to Comic Con to share new glimpses into the upcoming third season. Featuring Merlin himself, Colin Morgan, and acclaimed actor Anthony Head (who plays Uther Pendragon, father of Arthur), this panel is one of the ones I am most looking forward too – largely because I can’t get enough of the actors. Too bad Bradley James, the ever gorgeous Arthur, isn’t scheduled to attend – saving some British maidens in distress I suppose…

Fantasy Author Panel including Christopher Paolini (Thursday, 1:45pm) — This panel is centered around exploring if fantasy books require larger than life heroes and heroines. In addition to getting a chance to talk to a group of fantastic fantasy writers, we might be able to get a glimpse into the future of certain writers books (like Paolini – who’s fourth book in the Inheritance Cycle is long overdue).

Spartacus: Blood and Sand (Friday, 3:15pm)— Starz’ new, hit series (and a personal favorite of mine) will be having its own panel this year with many of the actors and crew from the show. In addition to information about the second season, we will also get an exclusive first look at the prequel: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena which was filmed while one of the lead actors was battling cancer (p.s. – he kicked cancer’s ass).

Glee (Sunday, 1:30pm)— Yes, Glee is coming. Did you expect anything less? I anticipate a lot of singing….of which I will probably take part in.

Thanks to a new feature on the Comic Con website, I can actually create my own personal schedule which allows me to see how many people have declared they are ‘attending’ a certain panel (great for planning how early to arrive).
If you are interested in seeing what I am attending, you can find my tentative schedule here.
