About Me:
I’m just your average, geek out a lot, go to school a lot, read a lot, play my flute a lot, go to church a lot, talk a lot, college going muggle.
I’m a second year, Animal Science [pre-veterinary] student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in California. When not taking care of newborn baby horses or solving genetics problems, I’m probably marching on the football field with my flute, going to church, or doing one of the thousands of other things I do that have me famed for being ‘far to busy’. When I finally get the chance to take a few minutes for myself, I tend to be on twitter, or watching something on Hulu.
Nothing, however, can compete for my time more than a good book. If you find me a book that not only has excellent writing, but a brilliant story, I can be found spending reading late into the nights. I prefer fantasy [Terry Goodkind], historical fiction, certain types of science fiction [Star Trek], and those good old classics [Dumas, Arthur Conan Doyle]. Most predominantly, however, I’m a sucker for a good, historical romance novel as well. Phillipa Gregory tops the list of my favorites there, as well as Robin Maxwell.
About The Blog:
“A Year in the Life of a Muggle Fanatic” is centered largely around the fantastic Harry Potter franchise. From July 2010 to July 2011, the Harry Potter series will enter its final year of firsts – climaxed with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1&2. With the popularity that the movie is gathering from fans who don’t want it all to end, it seems only fitting that this year -the 13th year – may become the single greatest year in Potter history (setting aside the fantastic month of July, 2007).
In addition to sharing my thoughts on the most popular HP&DH movie news, this blog goes beyond a simple news ticker. There is always something new – from thoughts on a certain character to in-depth looks into the composition of the movie soundtracks; from those hilarious Harry Potter spoofs to essays on the most crucial aspects of the Harry Potter series, there is surely something to entertain everyone.
In addition to Harry Potter though, I always have thoughts for the geek fangirl things that hop into my life. You will find interspersed in my blogs notes about Merlin, or Star Trek, or Comic Con…because after all, those things are a part of my life – and this is the life of an average, talk a lot, write a lot, muggle fanatic.
